Ian Hendrickson Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jan. 24, 2025.
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Ian Carl Ruhberg Hendrickson on 1/19/25, at the young age of 2.
Preceded in death by Grandfather Richard "Dick" Ruhberg.
Survived by parents Mike Ruhberg and Jennifer Hendrickson, sister Ariana, grandparents Jay and Heidi Hendrickson, Marilyn and Tom Gibbons, and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Ian was born 5/20/22. Despite being born with numerous medical issues, Ian beat the odds and overcame many obstacles in his short time here on Earth. Our goal was for Ian to eventually receive a kidney transplant, giving him a long and fulfilling life. Unfortunately, complications from a recent illness proved to be too much for his little body.
We would like to thank the staff at Masonic Children's Hospital who have guided us through our journey. The compassion, love, and support for our family was unwavering, both in and out of the hospital.
We'd also like to thank the staff from Pediatric Home Service and Bayada Home Health care. Without you, home life would have never been possible. The nurses coming into our home felt like family, providing him excellent care at all hours of the day.
Ian had an adorable smile and infectious laugh. He was the strongest, bravest, and toughest little boy, yet still had a personality that would captivate the whole room. He was surrounded by a village of love & will be dearly missed.
A celebration of life will be held February 1st at Community of the Cross Lutheran Church, 10701 Bloomington Ferry Road, in Bloomington MN at 11am. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Burial at Dawn Valley Memorial Park to follow. In lieu of flowers, we request donations to be sent to Community of the Cross Church.
