Ian David Ronaldson Finnie, age 63, of Tilton, NH, passed away on Tuesday, April 16th, 2024. He was born on Sunday, July 10th, 1960, in Arvida, Quebec, Canada.
Ian was not just a self-employed welder and truck repair specialist; he was a beacon of generosity and positivity in his community. As the proud owner of Finnie Welding and Truck Repair, Ian's craftsmanship was exceptional, drawing clients from all over who sought not only his expertise but also his strong dedication to providing quality work.
More than a skilled worker and business owner, Ian embodied the essence of compassion and selflessness. His hero complex was not merely a trait; it was his way of life. Ian would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need, often sacrificing his own well-being to uplift others. His warmth and contagious smile brought light to even the darkest of days. He had a remarkable ability to find the silver lining in any situation, reminding us all of the power of optimism.
Ian leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will forever be cherished by those who knew him. He is survived by his daughter, Jenna-Rose Finnie, and her partner, Matthew Silva, as well as his siblings William and Sandra Finnie, Douglas and Linda Finnie, Ann and Francis Simpson, Jillian and Robert Miller, and Heather and Terry Farmer. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Finnie, mother, Elizabeth S. (Ronaldson) Finnie, and daughter, Alana Blanche Finnie.
Visitation will be held at the Smart Memorial Home in Tilton, NH, on Saturday, April 20th, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 3:00 pm.
In honor of Ian's compassionate spirit and dedication to helping others, memorial donations may be made to Families in Transition, 122 Market St., Manchester, NH 03101.
