Private funeral services were held for Ida Ceparano, 95, of the Iselin section of Woodbridge, who passed at her home on Saturday, October 5, 2024.
She was born November 6, 1928 in Manhattan, NY, and and was formerly of Metuchen, NJ, before moving to Iselin, NJ 2 years ago.
Ida had a full and eventful life where she brought about her own success as a renowned restaurateur and five star chef, owning three restaurants in Manhattan, McBells Irish Pub, Limericks Restaurant, and Villa Eda where she was referred to by her patrons as "Santa Eda de la Pasta". She catered to many celebrities who enjoyed the comfort of anonymity as well as the food. She was an exceptional daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who gave 100% of herself.
Ida was a natural born humanitarian, feeding the homeless, never turning anyone away that came to her kitchen, serving them royally and with respect. She hired those who had been incarcerated, believing everyone needed a second chance. Her life will be remembered by many, and her passing will be honored by those she touched.
I know she is now with those she loved who have gone on before, and I'm sure she is preparing a feast in Heaven for all the Angels and Saints and for our Lord Himself. Buon appetito!
She was predeceased by her late husband, Emil Ceparano, who died in 1995.
She leaves behind her beloved daughters; Linda Farrauto and her husband Charles of Brooklyn, NY and Melodie Aszman with whom she reside in Iselin, NJ, her 4 grandchildren; Charles Farrauto Jr., Angelica Haubrich, John Pugni, and Austin Aszman, and her 3 great-grandchildren; Jeanna and Bethany Haubrich and Giuliana Farrauto.
Arrangements were entrusted to the care of the Flynn & Son/ Koyen Funeral Home, 319 Amboy Ave Metuchen, NJ 08840.
