Mrs. Ida Belle Fox, age 91, our generous, sweet, determined, and kind mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend passed away on September 2, 2025, at Medilodge of Frankenmuth surrounded by her loving family.
Ida was born on October 29, 1933, in Lincoln, Michigan, to John & Edna (née Apsey) MacDermaid. She was raised alongside her siblings and graduated from Harrisville High School with the class of 1951. Ida proudly worked at Wurtsmith Air Force Base as a secretary for ten years and at Parker’s Orchard in her later years. On October 10, 1959, she married the love-of-her-life, Ardel Fay Fox at First Baptist Church in Lincoln, Michigan. Together they shared countless memories, raised their children, and celebrated over 60 years of marriage before Ardel’s passing in 2020. Ida loved tending to her gardens and watching the birds visit the feeders. She enjoyed the outdoors, camping, and traveling. Furthermore, Ida was a woman of faith and member of Pineview Mennonite Church. She also taught Sunday School for many years. Above all, Ida loved her family and was a devoted mother and grandmother. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her son, Jonathan (Gloria) Fox of West Branch, MI; daughter, Fay (David) Eckert of Fremont, MI; son, Keith (Margaret) Fox of Hamilton, MI; son, Kevin (Tracy) Fox of Lake Havasu, AZ; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Welcoming Ida home to heaven are her husband, Ardel Fox; siblings: Harry, Dan, Lyle, Lee, Robert, and Gordon; and her parents, John & Edna MacDermaid.
