Ida Mildenberg Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Davis Funeral Home on Mar. 27, 2026.
Ida Rose Stanger Mildenberg, 71, died Friday, March 27, 2026, peacefully at home surrounded by her family in Nashua, New Hampshire.

Ida was the beloved wife of Leslie Mildenberg. They were married on June 24, 2007, in Nashua, New Hampshire.

Born on August 6, 1954, in Brooklyn, New York, Ida was the daughter of Benjamin and Edith Stanger. She grew up in Queens, New York, and attended Queensborough Community College before moving to Marlboro, Massachusetts, in the late 1970s. Following her passion for the culinary arts, she graduated from the Newbury College Culinary Institute in 1986. Ida was a gifted chef and entrepreneur who owned and operated BEMI Catering. She shared her talents as the head caterer for the Sudbury River Valley Temple and served as a private chef for many functions throughout the surrounding communities.

In 1997, Ida transitioned her deep industry knowledge into a corporate leadership role, joining Sysco as a National Account Sales Representative for the New England region. Over a distinguished 24-year career, she managed more than 150 high-profile accounts, ranging from major Boston hospitals and universities to national airlines like JetBlue. Her dedication and expertise were the hallmarks of her professional life until her retirement from Sysco in 2021.

Ida was an active and treasured member of Temple Beth Abraham in Nashua. She was a member of the sisterhood, becoming a board member and volunteering as the kitchen manager, using her culinary skills to help prepare events for holidays, religious services, and community events. In 2022, she was honored with the temple's Keter Shem Tov award, which stands for the crown of good name. The award is given to "a person who has given of themselves to impact both Jewish and non- Jewish communities." She also volunteered at the Anne Marie House, the Nashua Soup Kitchen, and during Covid, she was an online teacher for AHRC New York.

In addition, when Ida found out a neighbor was ill, she cooked weekly meals for him for a year. Her selflessness and devotion to those around her were the hallmarks of her character, leaving a lasting impact on everyone she touched.

Ida was the touchstone for her extended family. Nothing gave her more pleasure than hosting holiday celebrations for her parents, in-laws. sister, children, stepchildren, and grandchildren, always ensuring that her home was filled with laughter and excellent food. She loved to travel and try cuisines of the world, often returning with new recipes to share with those she loved.

Ida is survived by her loving husband Leslie Mildenberg; children Brian Noe and wife Jamie, Melissa Noe and Jason Lima, Jonathan Zalman and wife Jenna, Elizabeth Zalman, Jonathan Mildenberg and wife Sandy, Andrew Mildenberg, Benjamin Mildenberg, and Elizabeth Mildenberg: cherished grandchildren; Landon Holmes, Mason Holmes, Katz Mildenberg, Keller Mildenberg, Aidan Kelly, and Emma Kelly; devoted sister; Mandy Berkowitz and husband Robert; sister-in-law Debbie Harari
