Ida Faye Roberts Wilson, 96 years old, of Dresden, TN, passed away peacefully at West TN Healthcare Volunteer Hospital on September 30, 2025. She was born on January 8, 1929, in Sharon, TN, daughter of Gary Franklin and Ida McDonald Roberts. She was the youngest of ten siblings; Sally Adams, Virginia Buckley, Fannie Mae Moore, J.B. Roberts, Malcolm Roberts, Lynn Roberts, and three who passed away early in life. “Mama Faye,” as known by almost everyone, will be remembered for the selfless love and care she showered so richly. She loved to show her love by cooking and baking and was known for her perfect divinity, peanut brittle, and other Christmas goodies which she generously shared. For many years, she grew a large garden, and froze and canned food for her family. She also made fresh cherry, plum, and muscadine jelly from fruit she picked. She was a great cook and made many delicious meals including fried fish and the fixings, quail dinners, fresh vegetable plates, delicious pies, and many Thanksgiving feasts. For the past few years her mobility became more and more limited. She spent her days and nights in her lift recliner chair. She still enjoyed being with family, especially the youngsters, reading, including her daily Bible reading, listening to Sunday morning online worship services, taking Bible quizzes on YouTube, and for many years catching episodes of Jeopardy or Wheel of Fortune. She loved learning and continued to be a lifelong learner, collecting wise tidbits all along the way.
