Idalia Sanchez Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Scott Funeral Home - Alvin on Sep. 24, 2025.
Idalia Perez Sanchez of Pasadena, Texas, went home to be with the lord on Monday, September 22, 2025. Idalia was born in Mexico on October 9, 1952, and grew up in Alvin, Texas.

A woman of faith, Idalia was a very involved member of her home church, Primera Iglesia Bautista, for many years. She taught Sunday school and spent many summers teaching vacation bible school. She continued her nursery and Sunday school work at other churches over the years.

Idalia stood firm in her beliefs and emphasized faith even when fearful or unsure. She remained strong through a long battle in different hospitals. Even though she couldn't verbalize it, we know she was trusting in Jesus. Idalia loved working with children. For more than three decades, she worked with special needs children in the Pasadena School District at various campuses. The children, who affectionally called her "Ms. Dee," loved her and will miss her dearly. They always held a special place in her heart.

She also loved being outdoors and tending to her plants on her front porch, where she would leave bowls of water and food for stray cats. She enjoyed sitting outside, enjoying the fresh air and nature after her daily walks to stay fit.

Idalia also had a passion for Tejano music; she loved listening and dancing to it and was a very wonderful dancer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Humberto and Amelia Perez.

Idalia is survived by her daughters Tina Diaz and husband Dario, and Deborah Sanchez; sons David Sanchez and wife Lisa, Adam Sanchez and wife Lisa; sisters Irma Rodriguez and husband Fred, Lupe Rodriguez and husband Sabas, Mary Montague and husband Jim, Hilda Vera and husband Bobby, and Susie Martinez and husband Gilbert; brother Bert Perez; grandchildren Ezra, Sophia, Isaiah, David, Joshua, Adelynne, Madeline, and Jayden, and great-grandchild Ruby Celine, along with extended family. She will be truly missed.

A visitation will be held at Scott Funeral Home Monday, September 29, 2025 at Scott Funeral Home from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM, with a funeral service beginning at 7:00 PM.

I will miss you for your great dedication, and strenght, but most of all, for your kindness, that always shined through. You were one of a kind.
Dance your way into Heavenly peace and rest easy in eternal life,

I had the privilege and honor to work with Idalia for nearly 10 years. We called her Ms. Dee. I called her family. She was one of the most compassionate, hard worker I have known. She hardly ever missed work and you could always count on her to lend a helping hand. She loved all our students so much and showed so much love towards them. I will miss her laugh, her words of wisdom or her "Dee-ism". She spoke the truth and would say "I am just being honest yall" or "if you think I believe that I have land in Alabama." I will miss seeing her dress up for work she had the prettiest outfits and rings. Most of all I will miss her dancing with the students. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family. Rest easy Ms Dee. You will be truly missed.
