Ignacio Luján age 84, of Newton, Kansas, departed this life peacefully on September 21, 2025, at Paramount Community Living and Rehab. Ignacio Luján was born on July 31st, 1941 in Las Varas, Chihuahua, Mexico to Eusebio Luján and Dolores Montañez de Luján.He is survived by Maria del Carmen Luján, his beloved wife of 45 years. Together they built a life filled with love, family, and friendship.
Ignacio will be deeply missed by his children: Mayra Luján of Newton, Kansas Luis Luján of North Newton, Kansas Ignacio Luján Jr. of Lubbock, Texas He was a proud grandparent to 7 grandchildren: Ariel, Dina, Sophia, Isabella, Enzo, Josiah, Christel and great-grandparent to 1 great-grandchild. Ignacio is also survived by his brothers Manuel, Jesus, Armando, Elias, sister Alicia and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Eusebio Luján, Dolores Montañez de Luján and his sister Olivia Vega.
Throughout his life, Ignacio was cherished for his warmth, his joyful spirit, and his love of music—especially his harmonica. Above all, he will be remembered for the profound love he held for his family and the joy he brought to everyone around him.
Services for Ignacio will be held Friday, September 26, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Newton, Kansas, with the Rosary beginning at 10 a.m. All are welcome to attend.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to United Way of Harvey and Marion Counties in Ignacio’s memory.
The family would like to sincerely thank the dedicated caregivers at Wesley Medical Center and Paramount Community Living and Rehab for their kindness, compassion, and support.
