Ignacio Perez Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Guerra & Gutierrez Mortuary - East Los Angeles on Jan. 22, 2026.
Ignacio "Nacho" Perez, a man of Catholic faith and boundless spirit, was lovingly embraced by the Lord on January 7th, 2026. Born on May 18th, 1956, in Tecolotlán, Jalisco, Mexico, Nacho's journey through life was marked by his selfless nature and his remarkable ability to connect with others. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Gemma, a guiding father to his children, James and Audrie, and a steadfast friend to many.
Nacho's early life in Mexico and his humble upbringing laid a strong foundation for the values he would carry throughout his life. He valued family, hard work, determination and community. He brought these values with him when he moved to the United States as a young man and eventually started his family, marrying Gemma in Los Angeles, California. When his children were still young, he moved his family to La Puente, California, where he would eventually pass away peacefully of natural causes, surrounded by the love of his dedicated wife, children and family.
In his professional life, Nacho was known for his exceptional skills as a machinist and mechanic. His hands were gifted with the ability to repair and restore, a reflection of his own resilient spirit. Nacho could fix anything. He was a man who could find a solution to every problem and took great pride in his work. The Catholic Church played a role in shaping his adolescent years, and though he had some college education, it was his innate talent and unwavering grit that truly defined his career and his character.
Nacho's generosity knew no bounds. His home was a sanctuary for those in need, a testament to his Christian Catholic faith and belief in the power of giving. He lived by the words of Jesus: "It is more blessed to give than to receive," (Acts 20:35). This principle was a cornerstone of his life, guiding him to open his doors and heart to anyone seeking refuge and support.
Beyond his professional expertise, Nacho was a man of many interests and great passion. His love for conversation was infectious, and he could often be found deep in discussion, sharing stories, and imparting wisdom for hours on end. His passion for automobiles extended beyond his work, as he cherished the time spent working on old cars and motorcycles, always eager to breathe new life into them.
Nacho's zest for life was reflected in his love for classic rock music, with Guns N' Roses being among his favorite bands. He savored good food, always eager to celebrate life's moments, big or small, with family and friends. He enjoyed a trip to the swap meet, where he delighted in the thrill of hunting for treasures and negotiating a good deal.
To describe Nacho as merely handy and selfless would be an understatement; he was a spirited soul whose energy and kindness left an indelible mark on many. His legacy is one of love, compassion, and the joy of sharing life's simple pleasures.
As we bid farewell to Ignacio "Nacho" Perez, we are reminded of the profound impact one life can have on so many. We take solace in knowing that his spirit lives on through the lives he has touched and the love he has spread. Nacho's memory will be cherished and honored by all who were fortunate enough to know him. Nacho lives on through his wife, two children and three grandchildren. In the words of St. Francis of Assisi, "It is in giving that we receive," and Nacho gave generously of himself to everyone around him. May he rest in peace in the loving arms of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
