Ike H. Goodwin
January 6, 1935 – March 31, 2025
Ike Goodwin, devoted husband and beloved father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 31, 2025, in the company of family and loved ones. He was 90 years old at the time of his passing.
Ike was born in Roxboro, NC and reared in Pollocksville, NC. He spent the last half of his life in Goldsboro.
Ike was loved by many for his good-natured demeanor and generous manner. He enjoyed sports and played football and basketball in high school, and was an enthusiastic Denver Broncos fan. He was an avid golfer during his later years.
Ike served proudly in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, and afterwards in the United States Coast Guard Reserve. Upon completing his time in the service, he worked at the DuPont plant in Kinston, NC for over 40 years as an instrument mechanic. He enjoyed tinkering and fixing anything that needed maintenance.
Ike is survived by his wife, Linda Goodwin; son, Jay Howell Goodwin; grandchildren Alec Howell Goodwin, Clark Alan Goodwin, Julia Goodwin, and Annabelle Goodwin; sister Marion Tredway, and several nieces and nephews.
Ike is preceded in death by his father Kemp Preston Goodwin, Sr., mother Nellie Hearn Goodwin, son Scott Alan Goodwin, brothers Gene, Jack, Reed, and Pete, and sister Margaret.
Per Ike's request, no formal services will be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or Disabled American Veterans.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
