Ildefonso Sandoval Alvarez, a loving husband, devoted father, proud grandfather, and cherished dog owner, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on May 17, 2023. He was 80 years old.
Ildefonso created a beautiful life for his family in Chicago, but his heart always remained tied to his beloved home, Guadalajara. He leaves behind a lasting legacy of love and devotion to his wife, children, grandchildren, and his loyal husky companion, Caifan.
Throughout his life, Ildefonso exemplified selflessness, hard work, and unwavering care for those around him. His kindness and love knew no bounds, and he touched the lives of many. He will also be remembered for his deep passion and dedication to soccer, particularly his support for the Atlas.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Visitation, which will be held on Sunday, May 21, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Sagrada Familia Funeral Home, located at 4950 W. 79th St., Burbank, IL 60459. The Funeral will follow on Monday, May 22, 2023, at 8:00 a.m. at the funeral home, with a procession to St. Bede the Venerable Church, situated at 8200 S. Kostner Ave., Chicago, IL 60652. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. at the church, followed by interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, located at 6001 W. 111th St., Alsip, IL 60803.
Ildefonso Sandoval Alvarez will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will be cherished, and his spirit will continue to inspire us to live with kindness, love, and dedication.
