WILKES-BARRE — Ilene Osmanski, 79, formerly of Wilkes-Barre, passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 2, 2024, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Plains Township, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Johnson City, N.Y., a daughter of the late George and Sarah Ellis Nackley. Ilene was a graduate of GAR Memorial High School and Allied Medical & Technical Institute. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by InterMountain Medical and by Bargains Galore.
Ilene was a member of St. Anthony-St. George Maronite Catholic Church in Wilkes-Barre, where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. Ilene was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Osmanski, in 2001.
Ilene is survived by her sons: Joseph Osmanski and his wife, Stephanie, Kingston; Kevin Osmanski and his wife, Christine, Nanticoke; and Michael Osmanski, Baltimore, Md.; also surviving are her four grandchildren and her great-grandson.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday from Nat Gawlas Jordan Funeral Home, 89 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with divine liturgy to follow at 10 a.m. in St. Anthony-St. George Maronite Catholic Church, 311 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre. Her pastor, Rev. Adib Salameh, will officiate. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
