Ilene June Sherman

Ilene June Sherman, age 77, of 12817 Maple Road, Plymouth, Indiana, passed away at 9:53 a.m. on Thursday, April 9, 2009, at her home. Ilene was born on June 17, 1931, in Marshall County, Indiana, to Orlo and Viola (Huffer) Powell. Ilene and Jack were united in marriage on January 15, 1949. Ilene had been employed at Sears, in Plymouth, for 14 years. She was active in the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed bowling. Ilene is survived by her husband of 60 years, Jack Sherman; her sister, Connie Suntz of Denning, Texas; her grandsons, Michael and Stacy Sherman of Culver, Indiana, and Bruce Allen Sherman of Louisiana. A memorial service, for Ilene, will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2009, at NOON, at the VAN GILDER FUNERAL HOME, 300 West Madison Street, Plymouth, Indiana, 46563, with a time of visitation from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at NOON. The Rev. Charles Krieg will officiate at the service. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the Alzheimer's Association, American Heart Association, or the Marshall County Cancer Association.
