Iletta Robbins Obituary

Published by Sundberg-Olpin & Wheeler Mortuary - Orem on Jan. 23, 2009.
ILETTA REYNOLDS ROBBINS Our loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Iletta Reynolds Robbins, 87, died peacefully at her son's home on January 23, 2009. She was born March 26, 1921 in Henrieville, Utah to James Franklin and Martha Jane Smith Reynolds. Iletta was privileged to grow up in a family of 11 siblings which consisted of his, hers and ours. She moved to Orem with her family when she was ten years old, and eventually graduated from Lincoln High School. She met the love of her life Clyde J. Robbins while working at Robbins Market and married him in the Salt Lake Temple on August 17, 1942, shortly after Clyde was called to serve in the war. Following his return he hired on with Geneva Steel and they began to raise 5 sons and 1 daughter (Jane) who died at age 4. At the age of 42, Iletta earned her hair dressing license and opened "Iletta's Beauty Shop" which she operated for 20 years in the basement of her home. Iletta was an avid sports fan and loved watching her sons and grandchildren participate in a variety of activities. She and Clyde spent their free time canning fruit, fishing at Strawberry Reservoir and watching BYU Football. There was not a more loyal BYU Cougar Fan than Mom. She had an incredible ability to make people feel loved and accepted through her affectionate hugs, and the beautiful crochet quilts she made for them. After Clyde's retirement he was called to serve as the Bishop of the Lakeridge 6th Ward, they both worked in the Provo Temple where Iletta served as a matron for 8 years. They traveled extensively, with Alaska being one of their favorite places and also served a mission for the Church to the Oakland Temple Visitor's Center. Iletta will be remembered for her infectious laugh, happy disposition, warm hugs and the ability to keep her sons in place. Survivors include 5 sons, Paul (D'Anne) Robbins, Craig Robbins, Rand (Cynthia) Robbins, Shane (Charlene) Robbins and Chad (Natalie) Robbins. She will be dearly missed by her 20 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband (Clyde), her precious daughter (Jane), her daughter-in-law (Maria) and 11 siblings. The family would like to thank Cheryl Rowe and Grace from Alpha Home Health and Hospice for their tender care. Also our family will be eternally grateful to our brother Shane and sister-in-law Charlene Robbins for their Christ-like service and care of our Mother the last 4 months of her life. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 28th, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS Ward Chapel at 440 East 800 South, Orem, Utah. A viewing will be held Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State Street, Orem and also Wednesday one hour prior to the services at the ward chapel. Interment will be in the Orem City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.sundbergolpinmortuary.com

I have happy memories of waiting at the beauty shop while your mom did mothers (Margaret Mitchell) hair. She always was so kind, and my mother always enjoyed her company.
If there is comfort it is knowing she was happy in this life and loved her family, and she is now with your dad.
