Illeana Estella Leon passed away peacefully at the age of 69 on February 9, 2026.
She was a loving mother to Manuel and Carlos, Jr. (Karah). Cherished Nana to Carlos, Selena, Alivia, Luke, and Maxine, and proud Great Nana to Lucas and Alessandro. Illeana’s family was the center of her world, and she treasured every moment spent with them.
Born in Cuba, Illeana came to the United States at the age of five, embracing the opportunities of her new home with determination and resilience. Through hard work and perseverance, she put herself through school and built a successful career as a paralegal, working in both the private sector and the corporate world. She took great pride in her profession and the independence she achieved.
Illeana had a deep appreciation for art and culture. She loved strolling through New Hope and Peddler’s Village, spending hours browsing shops and admiring artwork—especially sculptures, which always captured her attention. Those simple outings brought her great joy.
Above all else, Illeana will be remembered for her strength, dedication to her family, and the love she so freely gave.
