In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and high school sweetheart, Jack Zimdars, brother Harold (Skip) Hase, son-in-law Walter Winchowky Jr and numerous other relatives and friends. She is survived by her daughters Cheri (late husband Walter) Winchowky and Robin Zimdars, her much loved grandchildren Sarah Kay (Greg) Weller, Andrea (Bryan) Cooper, Grant (Emily) Winchowky and Lucas (Emily) Winchowky. In addition, she leaves behind her sister Vivian (late husband Harry) Guzniczak, sister-in-law Barbara Hase (late husband Harold), cherished great- children, Clara, Aida, Dia, Hadley, Emilia, Ezra, Ilo, Jack, Felix, Asher, Jameson and Penelope, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins relatives and friends.
Mom was one of the strongest women we knew. She loved life and the people in it. Through her long life of ups and downs she would make the best out of every situation she was put in. From her childhood antics with her cousin Shirley to making a full life for herself and her family after Daddy left us way too soon. She was a woman of deep and steady faith, guided throughout her life by her enduring love for Jesus. Ilo's kindness, goodness and sense of humor made her easy to be around and liked by everyone.
Mom and dad had 48 years of marriage. These years were filled with love, adventures, helping others and hardships more than any of us even know, but all these years were all Christ centered. Mom served in various positions at the Church of the Open Door, in the New Berlin School District, as a Girl Scout Leader and volunteer. She enjoyed a fulfilling career as a bookkeeper at a small business that she treated as her own and her co-workers as family. She would travel with family, help us and her grandkids in countless ways and was care giver to both Grandpa Zimdars and Grandma Hase in their last years.
In retirement, Mom made sure to make time for lunch with old friends and family, took an overnight trip with her sister Vivian to look for birds, tended to her flower garden, and enjoyed going to the Fireside. She also could be found reading a book, doing a jigsaw puzzle, enjoying her dogs or just sitting outside enjoying her beloved woods.
Mom was a Godly role model as a wife, mother, grandma, great grandma, daughter, sister, aunt and to anyone who knew her. Even though she was small in stature, she left big shoes to fill. We will miss you.
Family and friends will gather for visitation at ELMBROOK CHURCH, 777 S. Barker Rd.,
