Jean was a farmer's wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker, 4-H leader, tax collector, and also owned and operated a custom drapery shop. She was a great cook, had a garden, did home canning/freezing, and anything that was required of farm life. After retirement, she and her husband stayed busy doing Meals on Wheels and helping others. She was an avid volunteer for her church and also belonged to several organizations.
