Imogene "Jean" Hart

Imogene "Jean" Hart, age 93 of St. Henry, Ohio, died late Thursday, January 23, 2025, at Briarwood Village in Coldwater. She was born on June 11, 1931, in Wendelin, to the late Linus & Josephine Keller. On June 10, 1950, in St. Henry Church, she married Henry "John" Hart, and he preceded her in death on September 11, 2000.
Jean is survived by her siblings, Waveline Selhorst, Luke & Jayne Keller, sisters-in-law, Princess Keller, and Dorothy Hart, godchildren Judy Koesters and Nancy Monnin, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Jean is preceded in death by her siblings, Hubert "Bud" Keller, Joann & Ernest Barhorst, and Raymond & Kay Keller as well as in-laws, Herbert Selhorst, Linus & Emma Hart, George & Anna Marie Hart, Margaret "Peg" & Andy Hemmelgarn, Alfred & Donna Hart, Ann & Joseph Berning, Leo Hart, and Mary & Clarence Quinter.
Growing up, Jean attended school in both Burkettsville and St. Henry and was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church. She worked for many years at Huffy Bicycles in Celina. Jean had many passions. For decades Jean and John pulled their Airstream or Avion camper to Florida and later to Pharr, Texas where they spent the winters. After John's death, Jean continued to make the trip solo, to spend the winter months in Texas. While she was in Texas, she spent much of her time making ceramics and porcelain dolls which she brought back to Ohio to share with her family. She loved to sew and made most of her own clothes. Jean was an avid gardener and took great pride in her strawberry patch, vegetable garden, and her apple, peach, and cherry trees. She was known for sharing her surplus fruits and vegetables with loyal customers from far and wide.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am on Tuesday, January 28, at St. Henry Catholic Church. Following the funeral mass a committal service will take place in St. Wendelin Cemetery, Wendelin. Friends and relation may call from 9-10am on Tuesday, January 28, at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry. Memorial contributions may be made to EverHeart Hospice.
