Imogene Monavee "Looney" Thomas

Imogene Thomas, 95, of Niles, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 23, 2026. Imogene was born on January 4, 1931, in Oil Trough, Arkansas, to the late Olegeby and Annie (Webb) Looney. On May 8, 1948, she was united in marriage to Harvel Thomas, who preceded her in death on April 4, 1984.

Imogene is survived by her daughter, Kathy Thomas of Niles, and her son, Danny Thomas of Dowagiac. She leaves behind a large and loving family of many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, as well as her nephew, J.W.(Corine) Looney of Mackinaw, IL.

She was preceded in death by her daughters, Brenda Balentine and Wilma Zimmerman; her sons, Tommy and Randy Thomas; two sisters; and two brothers.
Imogene worked for many years as the head of janitorial for Kawneer before retiring. She was the ultimate homemaker, always caring for her family with devotion and strength, especially throughout her years with Harvel. She enjoyed traveling and cherished the opportunities to explore places like Key West, California, and the East Coast during Harvel's military service.
A proud member of both the VFW and the Eagles in Niles, Imogene valued community and friendship. Above all, her greatest joy came from time spent with her children, grandchildren, and the generations that followed.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation will take place and no services will be held.
