Imojean Hughes Tharp, 79, of Dayton, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at Spring City Care and Rehab Center in Spring City, Tennessee. She was born on April 10, 1946, in Rhea County to Sam and Ethel Felts Hughes.

Imojean was a lifelong resident of Dayton. She loved crafting, yard sales, sewing, and riding motorcycles, but above all, she cherished spending time with her family. Her deep faith in the Lord was central to her life-she shared it openly with everyone she met. Whether with care givers, visitors, she often expressed her readiness to go home to be with the Lord.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter Melissa Marler, her grandson, Eli Wooden; her brothers, T.F., James, Hobert, and Kenneth Hughes; and her sisters, Gladys Jordan, Beulah Baldwin, Pauline Jordan, Mary Harris, Wilma Cunningham, and Wanda Adams.

She is survived by her special companion, Calvin Nichols; two brothers, Clarence (Carol) Hughes and Wendell (Joyce) Hughes; her granddaughter, Olivia Reajean Wooden; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 1:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Aaron Revis and Rev. Von Dunn officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the time of service. Burial will follow in Summer City Cemetery.
