Inez Johnson Obituary
A dedicated member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, Inez sang joyfully in the choir and found strength in her faith. She loved to travel and delighted in exploring new places, but her greatest happiness came from time spent with her family-especially her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Inez will be remembered for her warm spirit, her generosity, and the love she poured into everyone around her. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her.
Inez was predeceased by her daughters, Rhonda "Jean" Johnson and Phyllis Johnson-Love; and her parents, Cecil and Susie (Harden) Dowdell.
Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Rapha Johnson; daughter, Patricia Johnson; son, Rapha (Michele) Johnson, Jr.; son-in-law, Michael Love; Goddaughter, Valerie (Anthony) Thomas; adopted daughter, Shawna Edwards; 13 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and four great great-grandchildren; siblings, Hilda Macon and Amy Dowdell; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Calling hour will be held on Monday, December 15, 2025, from 10-11 a.m. at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 241 W. Lafayette Ave. Funeral services will immediately follow at 11 a.m. Inez will be laid to rest in White Chapel Memory Gardens, DeWitt. FARONE & SON Inc Funeral Home is in care of arrangements.

This distressing news has left me deeply saddened and shocked. I had the privilege of meeting Ms. Johnson via my dear friends Pat, Phyllis and Jean who I miss greatly. We have stayed connected, and she was a constant source of kindness and support. This news has affected me profoundly. Having known her since our elementary days, I watched as she played a pivotal role in our lives through various milestones, including marriages, career growth, while fostering a sense of family in her home. She embodied the the qualities of a nurturing and loving figure. Her legacy will continue to inspire us deeply. I am grateful for the times we shared and for her solace during my challenging times, and I am reminded to cherish every moment with loved ones.

I remember my Mrs. Johnson when we both worked at Family Service Center Day Care on Burt St. She was child care teacher. She was a very nice lady. I moved here from Mississippi and she and others welcome me with open arms. Thank you Mrs. Johnson. God Bless Your Family
