Inez Jean Moomey

Inez Jean Moomey (Dawson) - 89 years of Ida, MI - died Thursday, March 14, 2024, at Medilodge of Monroe, MI. Friends may call at the Capaul Funeral Home (Ida, MI) on Monday, March 18, 2024, from 2 - 8 pm. Inez will lie in state from 10 am until the funeral commences at 11 am Tuesday, March 19, 2024. Her burial will take place at Pleasant View Cemetery (Petersburg, MI) immediately following the funeral.
Born June 19, 1934 - in Tipton, MI - Inez was the daughter of James and Rena (French) Dawson. She was a 1952 Deerfield High School graduate. Inez also attended and graduated from the Monroe School of Cosmetology. After graduating, she dedicated 30+ years as a professional beautician at Inez's Beauty Flare. She married Dennis Diroff and later married Richard Moomey in 1965 in Ida, MI. Richard passed away on March 18, 2020. When she wasn't working, Inez was a member of numerous leagues, spending over 30 years golfing and bowling. Inez and Richard loved to travel. They were especially fond of Hawaii, where they spent January, February, and March every year for 40 years. She also enjoyed spending quality time with her family and friends.
Survivors include children, James (Denise) Diroff, Robert (Susan) Diroff, Terry (Kim) Diroff, Diana Diroff, David (Deb) Moomey, Jim (Jan) Moomey, seven grandchildren, James (Cassy), Dominique, Allison (Johnny), Kyle (Sarah) Amy, Kelly, and Lea (Truman). She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Vera Dawson and Mabel LaVoy, husband Richard, and son Michael Diroff.
