Inez Rutledge

RUTLEDGE – Inez Rutledge, age 93 of Covington, GA, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2026. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 21, 2026 in the Loganville Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home with Pastor Christopher Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at Corinth Memorial Gardens, 1635 Highway 81 SW, Loganville. The family will receive friends 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM prior to the service. Inez worked for the Emory Clinic for over 15 years before retiring to support and care for her husband until his passing in 1999. To her family she was known as mom, mother, mama, Sneeze, Nanny and Other Nanny. She loved her family and would host large get-togethers at her house. She made the best southern dressing, biscuits, pound cake and many other delicious dishes. Fortunately for her girls she has passed these recipes down to her kids. She was a longtime member of Loganville Baptist Church and a member of TOPS for 24 years. She made lifelong friends with members of her TOPS group; they were like family to her. She was proud to be involved in TOPS and was appointed leader for several years. Inez loved to travel; she didn't have to be asked twice if she wanted to go somewhere. At times she would just leave her house and ride around the area where she lived. She definitely was not a home body. Inez was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Clark Rutledge; parents, Frank and Gertrude (Powell) Timmons; brother, Horace Timmons; daughter, Glenda Sanders; son-in-law, James Stearns; great grandchild, Palmer Johnson. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Judy & Kevin Kovaleski of Fort Valley, GA, Patricia & Eddie Kenney of Acworth, GA, Denise & Everett Dessert of Woodstock, GA, Kathy & Kenny Langford of Stockbridge, GA, Beverly Stearns of Sun City Center, FL, Jeanna & Terry Stiles of Oxford, GA; son-in-law, Roy Sanders of Jonesboro, GA; sisters, Pam Taylor of Cordele, GA and Jan James of Newnan, GA; 14 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; numerous family and friends.
