Iola May Bainter

Iola May Bainter, 75, of Perry, passed away on Monday, November 24, 2025, at UnityPoint – Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Her visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home – Perry Chapel. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 1, 2025, also at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home – Perry Chapel. Burial will take place at Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry. Iola was born on July 4, 1950, in Manning, Iowa, the daughter of Howard and Gladys (Jorgensen) Hicks. She graduated from Perry High School with the Class of 1969.

She enjoyed quilting, working on puzzles and puzzle books. Iola was a devoted member of New Day Assembly of God Church in Perry and a woman of steadfast faith. Above all, she treasured her family and cherished every moment spent with her children.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Jeff Bainter, Stacy Bainter, and Lisa Bainter all of Perry; siblings, Shirley Anderson of Boone, Carolyn Wachter of Liberty Center, and Barry Hicks (Patty) of Des Moines; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Gladys Hicks; siblings; Winona Roberts, Lester Hicks, James Hicks, Brenda Brown, and Bruce Hicks.
