Ira was the husband of my cousin Gayle Kopin. I enjoyed meeting him at both joyous and sad family events. He was always welcoming, energetic and warm. His love of his family, service to his synagogue and enthusiasm for his work were refreshing. I was so pleased that he and Gayle were able to form such a large and loving family together. Gayle´s brother and my cousin Craig (Chuck) Mandel always spoke so fondly of Ira. My most heartfelt sympathies go out to Gale and to the rest of Ira´s family. And may Ira´s memory be for a blessing. Ira was one hell of a guy. We played poker together once a month for 25 years. He was always joyful win or lose. He was always ready with a joke or a story. Rest in peace my friend. Hope you can get into a poker game.

I have very pleasant memories of Ira. Growing up he was best friends with my uncle(Marty Gillerman). He was always very kind to me and the rest of my Uncle´s family. He always had a smile on his face. I know he will truly be missed.

Ira was truly a legend. I met Ira 8/27/2001 at DMH and had the privilege of working with him for over 20 years. Ira always had a smile on his face walking into the office. To quote Ira "another day in paradise" as he walked in by the girls. He loved the attention we gave him when he started wearing jeans to work. His many quotes stuck with me throughout the years. Ira will truly be missed but never forgotten.
I´ll cherish all the memories we had. My condolences and support are with his entire family during this difficult time.
