Ira Rabkin Obituary
Publish in a newspaper
as he said goodbye to this world. He lived fully, giving freely of all his many
talents, but mostly his love. He treated others always as he himself wished to be
treated, and truly lived and embodied the Golden Rule.
Ira was born and raised in Camden, New Jersey. He attended Harvard University
and Harvard Law School, and for decades he served the South Jersey legal
community always seeking justice and fairness. His impact has been noted by
many and appreciated over all his years of service.
He loved travel, the arts, reading, history, Schnickle Pickle and teaching. He lived
each day fully with a full heart and extended love to all those lucky enough to be
in his world.
Ira is survived by his loving wife, Maryann, and sons Matthew and Jonathan. As
important to Ira: he was loved by his strong circle of family and friends, including
his brothers Mitchell T. Rabkin, M.D., William I. Rabkin and his sisters, Barbara
Eiger (deceased), Susan Schulz and many nieces and nephews. He was also dearly
loved, cherished and cared for by his in-laws, Deb Doughty, Tina and Tom Decker,
Chuck Doughty (deceased), Pete Doughty and Neil Doughty as well as their large
extended family. Services are Private.
Donations in Ira's memory can be made to Angels Community Outreach, 334
South Broadway, Pitman, NJ 08071 or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital,
501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
