Irene Gaskin Byther

Irene Gaskin Byther "Baba" was a native and lifelong resident of Montrose, Alabama. She exchanged life for eternity Monday, September 30, 2024. Irene was the daughter of Early and Pinkie Jemison Gaskin.
She was educated in the Baldwin County School System. Irene was employed with Beasley Nursing Home in Fairhope, AL. She served for more than twenty years of dedicated service. She later spent more than twenty years employed with Orange Beach and Gulf Shores.
She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior was a member of the Greater Montrose AME Church.
Irene met the love of her life and married, Eddie Edward Byther. To this union, together they were blessed with four children.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Early and Pinkie Jemison Gaskin; her husband, Eddie Edward Byther; her son, Curtis Byther; her grandson, Sidney Byther; her sisters: Della and Elnora Gaskin; and her brothers: Early Jr., Eddie and Freddie Gaskin. Irene leaves to cherish her precious memories, her daughters: Irene "Linda" Byther, Brenda (Alonzo) Yelling and Della Davis; grandsons: Carlos Byther and Joshua Davis; great –grandchildren: Ciara, Zaliyah, and Jayce Byther; cousins: Carrie Johnson, Rosie Wills, Ethel Jemison, Richard Jemison, Edgar (Patsy) Jemison, Jimmy (Joyce) Jemison, Jessie Williams, and Ernest Autry; friends: Melvin (Margaret) Valrie, Margaret Yelding, Paul Dale, Willie Marshall, Dorothy "Dot" Harris and Barbara Crawford; and a host of other relatives and friends.
