Irene M. DeRossi

Irene M. DeRossi, 93, passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2024. Born in Mount Vernon, N.Y., she was a long-time resident of Hartsdale, NY, before moving to Palm Beach Gardens, FL in 1995, and eventually settling in Cedar Grove one year ago.
Irene was the daughter of the late William and Angelina (Julie) Bruno. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank L. DeRossi, Sr.; loving and devoted mother of Irene A. DeRossi and Frank L. DeRossi, Jr. and his wife Terri Kita; and cherished grandmother of Stefan and Gianna DeRossi.
Irene worked with her father and husband in the family-owned business, Sunrise Dairy in Mount Vernon, NY until 1975, when the business was sold. Irene continued working in delicatessens until her retirement, when she and her husband moved to Florida. In retirement, Irene spent her time cooking, reading, sharing her memories, and watching her daily soap operas. She had an infectious smile that lit up a room. Irene will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, December 28, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with a service to follow at Shook's Cedar Grove Funeral Home, 486 Pompton Avenue, Cedar Grove, NJ, (973) 239-1489. Irene will be interred beside her late husband at South Florida Memorial Cemetery, 6501 South State Road, Lake Worth, FL on Friday, January 17, 2025 at 1:30 p.m.
