Hancock
Irene J. Hendrickson, a resident of Hancock, passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2026. She was born April 7, 1937, the daughter of Alfred and Flora (Ruonavaara) Hendrickson. She was a lifetime member of the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church. She attended the Hancock Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1955. She was employed at the Tervo Insurance Agency.
Preceding her in death were her parents, sisters Joanne (Clarence) Marttila, Luella (Ralph) Ryti, and Tekla Schmeusser, and a brother-in-law Fritz Kolb.
She is survived by her sisters Lil Hendrickson, Sandy (Ron) Miller, Sharon (Gerry) Hammerstrom, and brother-in-law Karl (Bessie) Schmeusser all of Washington; sisters Cecile Hendrickson, Kathy Kolb, Gretchen (Randy) Mayra, and brother Joe Hendrickson of Hancock; aunt Anna Mae (Tom) Koski of Wyoming; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services for Irene will be held at 11 AM, Monday, February 16, 2026, at the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church of Hancock. Spring burial will be in the Lake View Cemetery.
Friends may call from 10 AM until the time of services at the church.
