Ms. Irene Renee Holman Jolly

Mrs. Irene Holman Jolly was born on June 21, 1939, to the late Mr. James G. Holman and Mrs. Mary W. Garner Holman. She departed this life Sunday, September 17, 2023, at The Windsor House.
Mrs. Jolly confessed hope in Jesus Christ at an early age and united with the Taylor Chapel Primitive Baptist Church under the late Reverend James Lane. She later united with the First Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorage of the Reverend Dr. Julius R. Scruggs. Sister Irene was dedicated to the study of God's word as a faithful member of the Adult Women's Sunday School Class. She could often be seen and heard giving testimony to the goodness of God in the worship services. She also served with the General Missionary and Senior Ushers Ministries where she continued faithfully under the current pastorage of the Reverend Dr. Don Darius Butler, until her health declined.
Mrs. Jolly was united in holy matrimony to the late Mr. Charles Jolly.
Mrs. Jolly was a dedicated worker as a manager and a cook at various restaurants in the Huntsville community. She was supportive of many organizations serving those in need and she continued her public service throughout her life.
Mrs. Jolly was preceded in death by two sisters, Maylee Holman and Betty J. Holman; and two brothers, James Holman, Jr. and Thomas Holman.
Irene leaves to cherish her memories, two sisters, Lousie Holman-Tate and Maggie Holman-Lottie; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousin, and friends. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends, but her spirit will live on.
Funeral service will be 12:30 p.m., Saturday, September 23, 2023, at the Royal Chapel of Memories with Reverend Carolyn Landry officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery. Ms. Jolly will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time.
Public viewing will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Friday, September 22, 2023, and 8:30 until 12:00 noon, Saturday, September 23, 2023, at the Royal Funeral Home.
