Irene (Greene) Knapp, 63, of Torrington, CT, peacefully passed away Tuesday March 5, 2024, at her home. She was the wife of the late Raymond J. Knapp, Sr.
Irene was born December 17, 1960, in Biddeford, ME, the daughter of the late Harry Boyajain and Rita (Houle) Greene and Ray Greene. She was employed by the Adams House as a CNA. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, cooking especially baking for the Holidays, she enjoyed going to fairs, playing her favorite card games of 9 – 5, and going to the beach.
She is survived by five children, Stepson Harold Knapp of SC, sons Raymond Knapp, Jr. and Edward Knapp both of Torrington, CT; a step-daughter Dawn Baughn of FL, a daughter Roxy Janulawicz of Torrington, CT; her siblings and their spouses, Richard Green (Margaret) of Indiana; Joseph Greene (Diane) of Torrington, CT, Ray Greene of New Orleans, LA, John Green (Theresa) of Goshen, CT; Charles Greene of Hawaii, Carol Ann Horne (Susan White) of California, Susan Lalonde (Jeffrey) of Pheonix, AZ, Penny Lewis (Frank) of Manchester, CT; sister-in-law Ann Greene of Las Vegas, NV; as well as four grandchildren, Katrina Knapp, Brian Baker, Jr., Anthony Knapp, Leon Cartagena, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, CT. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call on Saturday morning from 8:00 a.m. to the time of the funeral service at 10:00 a.m. at Cook Funeral Home.
