IRENE LAFFERTY Irene Lafferty, 74, of Bassett, Virginia formerly of Ravencliff, passed away on Monday December 30, 2013. Born April 1, 1939 at Bolt; she was a daughter of the late Arlie Ellis Gunnoe and the late Sarah Margaret Gunnoe. Irene loved working crossword puzzles, playing cards and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Laffferty; a brother, Delmer Gunnoe formerly of Bolt; two sisters, Ruby Combs formerly of Glen Daniel and Thelma Simerly formerly of Glossner, OH. Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Roy Lee Lafferty of Bassett, VA; three brothers, Kermit Gunnoe of Eccles and Don Gunnoe of Eccles, Arthur Ellis "Cracker" Gunnoe of Eccles; and two sisters, Shirley Cox of Eccles and Pauline Collins of OH. Committal Services will be held 3:00PM Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Chapel of Peace with entombment to follow. Pastor Dewayne Hurd will be officiating.
