Irene Ledesma, age 89, of Corpus Christi, Texas, peacefully entered into eternal rest on October 8, 2025.
Born on December 7, 1935, in Corpus Christi, she was the beloved daughter of Salvador and Juanita Chapa Garza. Irene was a proud graduate of W.B. Ray High School and later returned to work there as an Attendance Clerk. She was also the dedicated owner of Irene's Ceramics, where she shared her love for art and creativity.
Irene had a passion for travel, enjoying many cruises and trips abroad with her dear friends. She found great joy and companionship in her pets-her schnauzers, Tiko and Sport, and her cat, Freeway.
She is preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Judge Noe C. Garza, Judge Margarito Garza, and Salvador Garza Jr.; and two sisters, Dora Sanchez and Amelia Mendez.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Michael (Sandra) Ledesma and Laurie (Juan) Garcia; her grandchildren, Lauren Ledesma, Joshua Alcala, and Tiffiany (Joshua) Hector; great-granddaughter Ryleigh Alcala; numerous nieces and nephews and their extended families; and a host of friends whose lives were touched by her warmth and kindness.
The family would like to thank the staff at Viera and the nurses of Nurses on Wheels for their loving care and support.
At the family's request, services will be private family.
May Irene's memory bring comfort and peace to all who knew and loved her.
If EVENTS are posted below, floral tributes may be ordered for those services, otherwise, floral tributes will automatically be delivered to the primary family address on file. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Irene, please visit our floral store.
