Irene Mencl Obituary
Irene Mencl, 84, of Lawton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at Blueberry Hill Assisted Living in Lawton.
She was born July 4, 1941, in Evergreen Park, Illinois, the daughter of Albert Miller and Frances (McCormick) Miller.
Irene was a woman of deep faith and love. She enjoyed her family and friends. She also enjoyed trips to the casino. Irene most enjoyed when her home was filled with laughter.
She is survived by her daughter, Michele Markus; sons, John (Leisa) Mencl, Gary (Laura) Mencl, Craig (LaShel) Mencl and Russ Mencl; grandchildren, Matthew (Kelly) Markus, Melissa (late Matt) Johnson, Michael Markus, Mikayla (Clayton) Seager, Meaghan (Dallas) Froberg, Samantha (Thomas) Hollman, Tyler Mencl, Lydia Mencl, Ivy Mencl, Sean (Colleen) Mencl, Jake (Summer) Mencl, Sarah (Chad) Stewart, Ethan Mencl and Sophie Mencl as well as eighteen great-grandchildren.
Irene was preceded in death by her parents, the love of her life and husband, John Paul Mencl on February 11, 2013, and siblings, Agnes Allen, Mary Harpowicz, Chuck Miller and Bill Miller.
A funeral mass will be held on Friday, September 19, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Bosco Catholic Church, 23830 Front Avenue, Mattawan. A luncheon will follow in the church hall.
