Irene Mitchell Obituary
Born in Manchester, NH, she was the daughter of the late John and Marion Angers.
Irene worked as a clerk for the former Fishers Big Wheel for many years until her retirement. She was a communicant of St. Vincent de Paul Church and a dedicated member of T.O.P.S. She happily volunteered her time to the Westerly Little League and the Westerly Pee Wee Football. She was her sons' biggest fan, attending their many sporting events over many years. Known for her positive spirit and loving nature, Irene was loved and a friend to many.
She leaves behind her three sons, Robert A. Mitchell and wife Sally and Michael G. Mitchell, all of Westerly, and Thomas E. Mitchell and wife Corrine of Melbourne, FL; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Irene was predeceased by her son James A. Mitchell; her three brothers, John, George and William Angers, and her sister Olive Paris.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, August 25th from 5-7pm at Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly. A Graveside Funeral Service will take place at 11am on Tuesday, August 26th at St. Sebastian Cemetery, Cobblestone Lane, Westerly. For online condolences please visit www.gaffneydolanfuneralhome.com

Bob & Sally -so sorry to hear of your mom´s passing. I got to know her when she was coming to physical therapy. She was such a breath of fresh air and made the day even brighter when she walked in. Irene was a dear friend for many years and I so enjoyed watching our grandson Matthew´s football games with her! She knew everything about the plays, etc...I will miss her so much:)
