Irene Veronica "Mickey" Murray

Irene "Mickey" Murray, a resident of Beacon since 1971, formerly of Fishkill, Poughkeepsie, Middletown, and Goshen, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at the Fishkill Center for Rehabilitation & Nursing. She was 99.

Daughter of the late Robert F. and Rose (Sheridan) McMahon, she was born in Goshen on November 23, 1926. Irene graduated from Goshen High School.

In 1991, she retired as a purchasing agent for Tallix Foundry in Beacon. She had previously worked for several employers as an administrative assistant, telephone operator, and proudly as an aircraft riveter during World War II.

Irene was a longtime parishioner of St. John - St. Joachim Parish in Beacon. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who greatly cherished her family. On September 24, 1950, she married Joseph L. Murray at St. John the Evangelist Church in Goshen. Irene was predeceased by her husband on May 23, 1977.

Survivors include her daughter, Colleen Haddad (Randy) of Red Hook; her daughter, Sheila Pellicane (Brian McCormick) of Beacon; her son, Joe Murray (Sharon) of Mineola; her grandchildren (who called her "Nawnie"): Ryan Sewing, Brittany DeFrancisco, Adrian Haddad, Hannah Abrahams, Abigail Haddad, Courtney Pellicane, Megan Lang, Patrick Murray, John Murray, and Danny Murray; her great-grandchildren: Ryan, Noah, Luna, Isaac, Amelia, Benjamin, Ava, and Elizabeth; as well as many other loving family members, and notably nieces Patty Greenhill and Kathy Wronka.

In addition to her husband and parents, Irene was also predeceased by two brothers: Robert McMahon and Francis McMahon.

Calling hours will be held from 2:00pm to 5:00pm on Sunday, January 11 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00am on Monday, January 12 at St. Joachim Church, 51 Leonard Street, Beacon, NY.
