Irene Naumiec Obituary

Born and educated in Amsterdam, she was the daughter of the late Ignatio and Nora Turek. She worked for most of her life at the NYS Dept. of Taxation & Finance until retiring at the age of 70. She was an active communicant of St. Michael's Church in Cohoes and a member of St. Michael's Ladies Rosary Society.
Irene is survived by her loving sons, Michael Naumiec (Geraldine) of Waterford and Robert Naumiec (Barbara) of Halfmoon; by her adored grandchildren, Richard Naumiec (Kelly), Gregory Naumiec (Erin) and Laura Naumiec (Matt); and by her great grandchildren, Henry, Charles, Robert, Amelia and Augustus.
In addition to her parents, Irene was predeceased by her husband Vincent Naumiec; by all of her siblings, John and Joe Turek, Clara Kordyjak and Mary Tallman; and by her nieces and nephew Jeannie Monaco, Delores Sutyla, Mary Ann Taber and David Bubniak.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in St. Michael's Church, 20 Page Ave., Cohoes. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Waterford.
Relatives and friends may visit at the Church from 10-11 a.m. prior to the Mass.
The family would like to thank the staff of the A3 unit at Van Rensselaer Manor for the excellent care given to Irene for her 5 plus years residence at their facility. Also, thanks to St. Michael's of Cohoes Rosary Society for the nice cards they sent to Irene during her stay at the Nursing Home.
In recognition of Irene's love of animals, contributions may be made in her memory to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave., Menands, NY 12204.
