Irene Marie Panetta

Irene Marie Panetta, 84, of Metamora, formerly of Gladwin, died Tuesday, April 2, 2013. Irene was born on February 2, 1929 in Detroit, to parents Alexander and Antoinette Radyko. She married Frank Panetta in 1947 in Detroit. Irene enjoyed playing cards, especially poker and fishing in the day. She was great at crochet, knitting and cooking – and she was great at teaching those who wanted to learn, even the "secrets." Above all else, Irene was dedicated to her family. Mrs. Panetta is survived by her children: Frank (Sandee) Panetta of Metamora, Richard Panetta of Gladwin, Laurie (Todd) Gebhart of Flat Rock and daughter-in-law: Lori Panetta of Metamora, sixteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and a sister: Lottie Kurowski. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband: Frank Panetta, son: John Panetta in 2010, brothers: Ted, Frank & Henry Radyko as well as her parents. Visitation will be 4-8 PM Thursday with the funeral service will be 2:00 PM Friday, April 5, 2013 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Lapeer, Pastor Todd D. Smith officiating.
