I'm deeply saddened to hear of Irene's passing. I've known her for years from our time together on the WNYGS Board and editorial committee. I will greatly miss our correspondence. My sincere condolences to her family.

I'm very sad at the news of Irene's passing. She was an energetic, interesting person with many talents and one of the most intelligent people I knew. Most of all, she and Rowland were so welcoming to me and my partner, Harold Sunshine, an old school chum of Rowland's from Buffalo, at their Lime Lake cottage. Irene was tolerant of the hours those two spent with their stories. Irene shared several genealogical tips with me; she was a whiz with research. Her passing is a great loss and my sincere sympathy goes out to the whole family.
