Irene M. Scott

Irene Margaret Scott passed away peacefully July 9, 2025. she is survived by her son John and his wife Jacqui of Cohasset. Irene had four grandchildren, Allison and her husband Craig, Sheelah and her husband Derek, all of Scituate, Lauren of Cohasset, and Brian of Weymouth. Irene also had six great grandchildren, Henry, Hunter, Maeve, Halle, Sloan and George, all of Scituate.

Irene was predeceased by her parents Edward J. O'Neill and Irene Margaret (Howley) O'Neill, her three brothers Lawrence (Jean), Edward (Priscilla), and Francis (Betty and then Edith), and two sisters Ann (Alfred), and Barbara (John).

She is the former wife of Henry Francis Scott. She was a long time bookkeeper for Angelo's Supermarket, Purity Supreme, and Stop and Shop. She will be missed by her very close friends, Elaine and Bob Ryan, Nancy McRae, her niece and often travel companion Nancy Cirallo and her very kind and thoughtful friend Maria DeBonis.

Irene was an avid reader, loved to travel, talk politics, she campaigned for President Kennedy. She was very interested in tracing her Irish heritage, fiercely independent and strong willed!!! She was a faithful follower of all Boston Sports.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Thursday July 17, 2025 from 9:00-10:30 AM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 10:15 AM on Thursday July 17, 2025 prior to the Funeral Mass in St. John’s Church, Quincy at 11 AM. Cremation will follow.

Donations can be made to Scituate Animal Shelter in lieu of flowers.
