Eleanor M. (Rich) Quigley of Quincy, died on November 20, 2025, she was 98. The beloved wife of the late James Quigley. Loving mother of James Quigley and his wife Katherine of Quincy, Stephen Quigley and his companion Christine Correia of Middleboro, Annmarie Florentine of Weymouth, Kevin Quigley and his late wife Pamela (Shields) Quigley of Plymouth and the late Ellen Quigley. Sister of Clare Keenan of Milton, Mable Shelley of Woburn and the late Cecelia Cognina, Mildred Finn and James Rich. Eleanor is also survived by 12 grandchildren and her late granddaughter Andrea Rose MacDonald and 17 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Eleanor was born in Boston on July 31,1927. She survived the great depression and spent some of her childhood with her parents and siblings in a very modest home in Billerica. She married the love of her life James Quigley on Oct. 22, 1955. Eleanor and James had 5 children and moved to Quincy in 1966 after a fire at their Dorchester home. Eleanor rejoined the workforce in the 70’s working for and retiring from the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. Taking a bus and a train everyday, rain, snow or shine. Eleanor was the sweetest yet strongest woman you would ever meet. She was a true role model for her family. The best Mom ever and an even better Nana.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Tuesday,Nov. 25, 2025 from 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2025 prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy.
