Irene Steele Obituary
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 29, at All Faiths Funeral Home. Daniel Naranjo will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island Cemetery.
Visitation will begin an hour prior to the service.
Rea was born Nov. 19, 1942, in Nebraska City, the daughter of John G. and Stella I. (Briley) Peterson. She was raised and received her education in Nebraska City. She was united in marriage to Don L. Steele on Aug. 4, 1975.
For many years Rea operated the lunch wagon and cafeteria for Olson Auction and Knott Auction. She loved gardening, casinos, and attending and participating in car shows with her husband. Most of all she loved her family, especially time spent with her grandkids.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 47 years, Don; her children, Cathy Dixon, Raymond "Bub" (Roxie) Price, Cheryl Berger, Carol Price, and Gary (Michelle) Price; nine grandchildren, Brandy, Dawn, Candace, Preston, Brandon, Sasha, Jacob, Dalton and Dyllon; and several great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Dwayne Dixon; two grandsons and a great-granddaughter; her parents; two brothers, John G. Peterson and Larry Peterson; and a sister, Jackie Price.
