Irene Wiet Obituary

Irene's kindness, strength, and unwavering love touched the lives of all who knew her. Her caring and engaging personality drew people toward her. Her sense of humor was infectious, and she left a legacy of stories to laugh over. She doted on her grandchildren, and was known as "Candy Grandma." Her love of life was reflected in her enjoyment of wine, slot machines, dancing, and an occasional brandy Manhattan "on the rocks" which she embraced up to the end of her life. She was truly an amazing person.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 from 5:00-9:00PM at Hallowell & James, 1025 W. 55th Street Countryside IL. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at 10:00AM at Hallowell & James with interment to immediately follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside, IL.
