Irene Maud Williams, 101, of Niles, died peacefully November 27, 2025 in the comfort of her family’s presence.
Her life began November 6, 1924 in Paterson, New Jersey the first of two born to Cyril and Maud Saxton.
Irene was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for over fifty years. She was an avid gardener, caring for three acres of flowers. She loved to cook, especially making large meals for her family. Irene cared for generations of cats, including Panda and Purrcilla. The family dog Mouse will miss her terribly. Irene was an avid reader, owning hundreds of murder mystery books. She enjoyed game shows, Murder She Wrote and Columbo. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Irene will be greatly missed by family and friends. She is survived by Three daughters, Sandra Williams of Niles, Diane (Fred Rogers) Williams of Niles, Melissa (Ralph) Pletcher of Niles; Two sons, Scott (Connie) Williams of Cassopolis, Bruce (Shelley) of Hilliard Ohio; nine grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Benny in 1989, sons, Stanley Williams and Dale Williams.
Family and friends will gather Friday, December 12, 2025 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. in Trinity Episcopal Church 9 South 4th Street, Niles. Irene will be laid to rest in Silverbrook cemetery, next to her husband Benny at a later date.
The family prefers contributions in memory of Irene be made to Trinity Episcopal Church, 9 South Fourth Street, Niles.
