Irene Zebrowski Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bosak Funeral Home - Stamford on Feb. 6, 2026.
Irene Zebrowski, a beloved Stamford, CT resident, passed away on January 20, 2026. She was the daughter of the late Alexander Zebrowski and Alexandra Zylko Zebrowski. Irene graduated from Stamford High School and dedicated over 30 years of her life to the Stamford Health Department, where she dedicated herself to helping women, infants, and children in need. She was a true champion, connecting them with essential services like the WIC Program.

Irene's nieces and nephews will cherish her memory for her unwavering kindness and daily inspiration. She was a sought-after source of wisdom and advice, always ready to lend a helping hand. Her condo community will miss her dearly, especially her quick response to neighborly requests and her warm hospitality. As a passionate pet lover and gardener, Irene spent her time surrounded by a community of fellow gardeners, enjoying visits with neighbors and their furry companions. She always had a treat in hand for the pets, making her a true friend to all.

As Irene grew older and faced health challenges, she displayed remarkable bravery and determination to stay in her beloved home. Her devoted nephew, Mike Horyczun, played a pivotal role in achieving this goal, working tirelessly alongside her to make necessary modifications to her living space.

She is survived by several nephews, nieces, grandnephews, and grandnieces. Sadly, she was preceded by four sisters - Helen Stefanowski of Florida, Paula Ferris of Greenwich, Victoria Horyczun of Stamford, and Jane Wojcik of Stamford - and one brother, Joseph Zebrowski of Florida.

A Christian Prayer Service will be held on Thursday, February 12th at 10:30 am at Bosak Funeral Home & Cremation, 453 Shippan Avenue, Stamford, CT. Interment will follow at St. John RC Cemetery, 25 Camp Avenue, Darien, CT.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Connecticut Humane Society at 701 Russell Road in Newington, Connecticut, or online at https://cthumane.org/ways-to-give.
