Irineu Cosme Dias, known affectionately as Cosme to his friends and family, passed away on October 21, 2025, in Greenville, South Carolina. Born on July 30, 1965, in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, Cosme's life was a tapestry of joy, laughter, and unwavering faith.
Cosme is survived by his beloved wife, Melodie Ivester Dias, and his cherished siblings, Ildea, Ilnea, Ilqea, Ildeu, Ilveu, Ilmeu, and Alexandre. He is preceded in death by his parents, Romeu and Maria Dias
Cosme's interests were a reflection of his love for life and the outdoors. He was often found at the gym, where he dedicated time to his health and well-being. His passion for cookouts and gatherings at the lake with friends and family were the highlights of many weekends and holidays. These moments were cherished by Cosme, as they combined his love for good food, nature, and the company of his loved ones.
Those who knew Cosme will remember him as a loving, funny, and faith-filled man. His sense of humor was infectious, and he had the unique ability to light up a room with his laughter and quick wit. His deep faith was a guiding force throughout his life, providing him with strength and solace during times of challenge and joy alike.
As we bid farewell to Irineu Cosme Dias, we celebrate a life well-lived, a journey marked by the love he gave and the joy he brought to those around him. He will be profoundly missed, but the memories he created will forever be a beacon of light for his family and friends. Cosme's spirit will continue to inspire and guide us, just as the stars continue to shine even after they have passed into the night sky.
