Obituary of Iris C. Montes

Iris Carmona Montes, a lifelong resident of Camden, passed away suddenly at her home on February 18, 2026. She was born on June 3, 1954 in Camden to the late Felix and Nicolasa (nee Carmona) Montes.

Beloved mother of Kenneth Wendell Hohney Jr., Kay T. Montes and Maria Isabel Funches (Christopher); Loving grandmother of Taylor Marie Read, Kenneth Hohney III, Jaiden Hohney and Aiden Alvarez; Dear sister of Lucy, Anna, Lucia Sharapoof, Nicholas, David and the late Felix, Antonio, Oswald and Elva Montes; She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, extended family and friends and her beloved pets Tank, Pig and Whiskers.

Iris enjoyed spending time and riding her scooter with her grandson Aiden; teaching her family how to cook, Bingo and anything Elvis Presley. She also enjoyed watching Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead, and loved caring for animals.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation and Funeral on Thursday, February 26 from Noon until 2 PM at the Falco/Caruso & Leonard Camden Funeral Home, 3425 River Avenue, where prayers will take place during the visitation. Interment will take place privately at the convenience of the family.
