Iris Ramona Moore, 71, of Prosperity was born January 29, 1955, she was the youngest child of the late George S and Myra Bowers Moore. She was the valedictorian of the 1973 graduating class of Mid-Carolina High School. She retired as an accountant with 30 years of service at Palmetto Baptist Medical Center in Columbia, SC.
Prior to her employment at Baptist Medical Center, she worked with the SC Dept of Mental Health at the Newberry satellite office. She also worked at the Newberry County Development Board and Chamber of Commerce and Shakespeare. She moonlighted briefly at Midlands Technical College.
She was a lifelong member of Bethel Baptist Church. As a member, she taught Sunday School for children – ages 7-9. She also served as church clerk and co-treasurer of disbursements for more than 20 years. More recently, she served on the Cemetery Committee and Communion Committee.
She loved cooking, sewing, crocheting knitting, embroidering, decorating, and a variety of other crafts. She loved music and enjoyed playing piano and fiddle.
Survivors include a sister, Vivian M. Gore; brother-in-law, Henry Franklin; sister-in law, Judy D. Moore, all of Prosperity. Others include nieces and nephews- Kevin (Charlene), Daniel (Lucy) and Olivia Moore; Charles (April), Emma and Samuel Moore of Kinards; Eric (Rhonda), Josie and Zeke Moore of Pomaria; Rhiannon (Jeremy), Mya and Alli Larsen; and Aaron (Corie), Zoie and Kingsley Franklin, of Prosperity.
She was predeceased by both parents, brothers Tommy and Randy Moore; sisters Chloe M. Dennis, and Crystal M. Franklin, brother-in-law Bennett Dennis, and sister-in-law Nancy G. Moore.

Memorials may be made to Bethel Baptist Church (2503 Bethel Church Rd, Prosperity, SC 29127). She was so grateful to those who assisted in giving her a ride to her many appointments and to Men’s Ministries for their help in building a ramp and various yard work.
