Iris Sutton Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Parker Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. on Mar. 12, 2026.
Iris Lynne Sutton was born April 15, 1946 the youngest child to parents Alby and Alma (Jensen) Sutton. Iris gave birth to her only child, a daughter Michelle at 17 years old and raised her as a single mother. Iris spent her life showing love to any and everyone she met. Coworkers became family to her. Iris was known for rescuing dogs from a multitude of places, walks of life, and varying temperaments. She loved them all as her children.

She doted endlessly on her beloved granddaughters, and helped her daughter raise them by picking them up from school when they were ill, accompanying them to doctor's and dental appointments and spending endless time and money on them when she took them for weekend visits. She loved shopping the clearance aisles, often saying that "Clarence is the man for her", taking "50-cent tours" around the town to see what new buildings were being built and where, and scouring estate sales for interesting pieces. But truly, she was known for her unconditional love and willingness to help anyone, human or animal that needed it, and that is who Iris was.

As of February 23, 2026, Iris is reunited with both of her parents, her dearly missed siblings, Gayle Carroll, Phillip (Candace), Naomi Kelly, Judith (Daniel) Reavis, as well as two other siblings, Dennis and Margarite who passed in early childhood. She will be eternally remembered by her spoiled dog Copper, daughter Michelle, granddaughters Meghan (Bert) Miller, Melissa (Nick) Jackson and three great-grandchildren, all of whom were the brightest and most cherished people in her life.
