Irma Patricia “Pat” Chavez, age 63, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 3, 2024. Pat was born in El Paso, Texas, to Amado and Blanca Armine Diaz on October 21, 1960. She was a graduate of Ysleta High School, Class of 1978. Pat graduated from UTEP in 1985 with a degree in Business Administration and Marketing. She married the love of her life, Miguel Chavez, in 1986. Pat put her education into practice as a business owner, opening Huggables Novelty stores in Cielo Vista and Sunland Park Malls. She also worked as a Manager for Kaspers Ladies Boutique, and as a Customer Service Representative for Cox Communications. Pat enjoyed collecting dolls and stuffed animals, but being around children and family is what gave her the most joy. Pat had a remarkable gift for relating to children, which fostered the love and affection of just about every child she met. She also had a deep love of family. Pat seldom missed a family gathering of any sort, going out of her way to make family birthdays, anniversaries, or any other special occasion a priority. She could be relied on to make them joyful and unforgettable. Pat was preceded in death by her father Amado Diaz, Sr. She is survived by her husband Miguel Chavez, mother Blanca Diaz, brothers Amado Diaz, Jr. and his wife Diana, Robert Diaz and his wife Reyna, and Richard Manuel Diaz. She is also survived by sisters, Leticia Dunn and her husband David, and Sylvia Diaz. Pat will be greatly missed, by all of her extended family, and her many friends, who will cherish their memories of her life and her love.
